Meet Jacqueline
Hi! I'm Jacqueline.
I'm an Acupuncturist, Herbalist, and Holistic Fertility Coach. I specialize in uterine and hormone health, which means I can make your periods more regular or a lot less painful. I can balance your hormones and treat annoying symptoms like PMS or hot flashes. And if parenthood is ahead of you, I can help you to conceive and support you through a healthy pregnancy and postpartum period.
I found Chinese medicine myself because of my decade-long battle with irregular menstrual cycles and painful periods. It cured me from the unbearable pain I had grown to believe was inevitable. It enlightened me to all the possibilities holistic treatments hold for people who can't find solutions elsewhere. It empowered me to become the healer I am today and impassioned me to share this medicine with others who need it.
Obviously my job includes acupuncture treatments, blending herbal teas and tinctures, and counseling folks on how to identify their most fertile days; but I do a lot more than that.
I'm a health educator.
I’m passionate about dismantling medical racism and fatphobia.
I'm a detective of medical records.
I'm an empathic listener.
I’m an advocate for LGBTQIA+ and Sex worker rights.
I'm a total science geek and forever student.
I'm a safe space.
I'm supportive of your healthcare rights.
I'm a guide through infertility and the IVF process.
I'm in your corner and I've got your back.
I know how you feel
Maybe you've been to countless doctors but you don't feel anyone is listening. Perhaps you feel like something is off in your body, but you're not quite sure what. Or maybe you wish you had more options than what modern medicine is providing you, but you can't seem to find them.
I know how you feel because I've been there before. I struggled before finding Chinese medicine and it was the first option to actually give me real and lasting results. That's why I'm so passionate about sharing this medicine with others who need it, because I believe we can all benefit from conscious, personalized, holistic healthcare.
When we work together
Each session involves a conversation about your personal health goals and how I can help you achieve them. We'll work one-on-one to create a customized treatment plan, depending on your specific and unique-to-you presentation.
With Chinese medicine we'll get to the bottom of what's going on in your body and find actionable ways for you to be the healthiest you possible. Treatments focus on nourishing your mind, body, and spirit, whether with acupuncture or herbal medicine. You'll experience balanced wellness, inside and out.
When we work together, I'll give you the tools you need to understand what's going on inside of your body and to take charge of your healthcare.
I'm a not-so-secret science nerd
Although I practice Chinese medicine, my roots actually lie in Western science, which shows in my integrative approach.
As the child of chemists I grew up doing odd jobs in my parents' hand-built lab and witnessing science experiments at the dining room table. I was a scientist at heart from a very young age. I went to the University of Southern California, studied Biology with an emphasis in Neuroscience, and I worked in a genetics lab for a year. It wasn't until I graduated college that I discovered my interest in herbalism and tried acupuncture for the very first time.
The Official Stuff
I'm licensed to practice acupuncture and herbal medicine by the California Acupuncture Board and my license number is #14991, feel free to verify the status of my license. I have been practicing since 2012 and established Sweet Beet Acupuncture in January of 2016.
I have a Master's degree in Oriental Medicine from Dongguk University, Los Angeles, and a Bachelor's in Biological Sciences from the University of Southern California.
